From Eastern Cape to Global Impact: CEO Simbongile Bantubani
African Mining News interviewed CEO Simbongile Bantubani about Afrinov’s origins, work, and future plans. Bantubani, from the Eastern Cape, studied mechanical engineering in Johannesburg and has extensive experience in the smelting industry. Passionate about African solutions, he received initial support from family and Mayibuye i-Afrika Trading, which helped establish Afrinov. Despite COVID-19 delays, Afrinov successfully handled significant projects, including rapid delivery of electrode clamping devices. Bantubani aims to expand Afrinov’s manufacturing, enhance international reputation, and support other entrepreneurs, focusing on growth and innovation in the industry.
